Widdrington

Size 16 ft x 4 ft
Gauge N
Scale 2 mm to 1 ft

Widdrington represents a medium sized industrial town in the Midlands. The canal has fallen out of use and the tramway is in decline, but in the pre-Beeching late fifties/early sixties the railway is still seaming along. Rumour has it, that on occasions, funnelless green things have been sighted.

It features a double track main line, a branch line, a small goods yard and an engine shed with working turntable.

Most of the buildings are scratch built and many a club night has been spent planting the allotments. It would have been easier to have modelled the scene in winter, but modelling the warmer part of the year allows more passenger trains to be run. The passenger trains are taking holiday makers to the South and East Coast resorts as well as providing services to and from London.
